Is There are Connection Between Spiritual Health and Physical Healing?
Sickness if often a results of an unhealthy spiritual or emotional condition. People who are suffering from negative emotions including fears, negative thoughts, anger, resentment, or abnormal amounts of stress will soon find themselves spiritually or emotionally unhealthy which also affects our physical health. If you ask ministers and some alternative health experts what they think about physical health, they will tell you that diseases that people encounter is a result of poor spiritual health and well being. It is believed by many people today that there is indeed a link between physical illness and spiritual or emotional factors.
So, if our spiritual health affects our physical health, then this means that we need to strengthen our spiritual well bring so that there will be healing in our bodies as well. You will feel great physically, if you feel great spiritually and emotionally. When the body falls ill, our attitude plays a huge role in how the disease progresses and how long it may last. Keeping our faith in God is still possible during our illnesses, and we can pray to God to help and guide us during this time of uncertainty so that we won’t be fearful.
You are the best judge of your spiritual health. You should examine your heart or mind for thoughts of fear, anger, anxiety, unforgiveness, negativity, or other emotions that can harm not only your soul but your body as well. You will find that you have a predominant emotion that rules your life. If there are a lot of toxic emotions in your mind, then all of these will soon affect your body and it will become sick. To become really healthy you should try to cultivate emotions of love, joy, peace, patience, and faith in God. These positive emotions come from the Spirit of God. Filling your heart with these fruits of the Spirit will greatly help you filter out the negative emotions that keep you physically unhealthy but it also opens the door to God’s healing light.
If you are surrounded by many problems, then you can face these problems if you have good spiritual health. Even during the uneventful times in your life you should keep your faith in God so that you will be stronger when the time comes when you circumstances and health are challenged.
There are many ways to maintain your spiritual health and these are through meditation, reading the Scriptures, prayer, and others. If you regularly do these activities, then you will realize that you are becoming healthier emotionally. These practices have to be done regularly or daily, so that you can take away the negative emotions in your life. Reading the Bible helps us to focus on the love and faithfulness of God, which puts negative emotions out of your heart.
Don’t expect healing to be instantaneous even if you have the most positive attitude. But, it allows you more strength to bear the infirmity.
